You may have been instructed that the next step is to run it in Safe Mode. So, you save your executable kavremover program on your desktop, restart your computer, hit the F8 button ( before your OS starts) to use the computer in Safe Mode. Kavremover is executed and your Kaspersky antivirus program should be DETECTED. You enter the security codes, the old Kaspersky program is removed - just restart your computer!! In my case, after restarting, my mouse no longer worked (had to do a recovery) and some components of the antivirus program remained.
Well, I found a way to avoid the hassle of running the tool in Safe Mode. Here's what I did:
1.Press Start. Open a command prompt window. If you don't know how, click on Help and enter the search words command prompt. You should be able to open it from that point.
2.Click on Computer, which will display drives and folders. Click on the C: drive.
3.Find the path (use folders names) that points to the location of your executable kavremover program (which is likely in the download folder). Change your directory, in the command prompt, to point to it. Since I downloaded kavremover9, the command I used is below:
cd c:\Users\Computer\Downloads\kavremover9 (see image below)
4.When the command re-displays on the screen, key the words>kavremover9.exe kav6
Note: my version was kav6; key the Kaspersky version you're using
5.After running, check the programs, in control panel, to see if any components of the anti-virus program remains. If so, see what you can try next: http://kasperskyuninstallproblem.blogspot.com/
